The United States and its allies are responsible for the destruction of Syria during the country’s four-year conflict, a former American intelligence linguist in Florida says.
“The US, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and European Union NATO allies and other [Persian] Gulf state allies in the region have been absolutely decimating Syria,” Scott Rickard told Press TV on Monday. “Nearly three quarters of the country have been destroyed and over half of the population has been displaced.”
“The US government is obviously not conducting itself in an ethical way and it’s certainly creating a terrible atrocity not only in Syria, but in other countries where they’re operating with the same horrific foreign policy,” Rickard said.
US Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent remarks that Washington is working to avoid the “total destruction” of Syria is “absolutely absurd and hypocritical,” Rickard noted.
“Once again we see the Americans talking out the side of their mouth, skewing lies left and right,” he added.
Kerry said on Monday that the US wants to avoid the "complete and total destruction" of Syria, and plans a meeting in the coming days with Russian, Saudi and Turkish leaders to seek an end to the conflict.
"I will be coming back in a few days and I will meet with leaders of Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to work through... options that could perhaps reignite the political process and bring about a political transition in Syria," he told reporters in Madrid, Spain.
Kerry also said there was no military solution to the conflict and that “propping up [President Bashar al-] Assad will ultimately fail.”
The US and its regional allies, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have been backing militants fighting the Syrian government.
Already 12 million Syrians have been displaced by the conflict, now in its fifth year. http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/10/19/434138/kerry-syria-total-destruction

Nichts, was diesen Namen verdiente!
——————————————————-
Ergänzend, konkretisierend: Was meine ich mit Kriegslogik?

Pepe Escpbar "Empire of Chaos"

From Syria and Iraq to Ukraine, from AfPak to Libya, from Iran to Russia, and from the Persian Gulf to China, foreign correspondent Pepe Escobar, author of The Roving Eye column for Asia Times/Hong Kong, crisscrosses what the Pentagon calls the "arc of instability."

As Escobar tells it in the introduction, "the columns selected for this volume follow the period 2009-2014 – the Obama years so far. A continuum with previous volumes published by Nimble Books does apply. Globalistan, from 2007, was an extended reportage/warped travel book across the Bush years, where I argued the world was being plunged into Liquid War – alluding to energy flows but also to the liquid modernity character of post-modern war. Red Zone Blues, also from 2007, was a vignette – an extended reportage centering on the Baghdad surge. And Obama does Globalistan, from 2009, examined how the hyperpower could embark on a “change we can believe in”. The outcome, as these columns arguably reflect, is Empire of Chaos – where a plutocracy progressively projects its own internal disintegration upon the whole world."

"You will find some key overlapping nations/themes/expressions/acronyms in these columns; Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia, China, Russia, Ukraine, Pipelineistan, BRICS, EU, NATO, GCC, the Global South, GWOT (the global war on terror), The New Great Game, Full Spectrum Dominance. You will also find a progressive drift towards not conventional war, but above all economic war – manifestations of Liquid War."

"Incrementally, I have been arguing that Washington's number one objective now is to prevent a full economic integration of Eurasia that would leave the U.S. as a non-hegemon, or worse still, an outsider. Thus the three-pronged strategy of “pivoting to Asia” (containment of China); Ukraine (containment of Russia); and beefing up NATO (subjugation of Europe, and NATO as Global Robocop)."

Book the ultimate trip to the Empire of Chaos, and see how the U.S. - and the West - are tackling the emergence of a multipolar world.

Pepe Escobar, born in Brazil, is the roving correspondent for Asia Times Online/Hong Kong - where he's published The Roving Eye column since the early 2000s. He's also a political analyst for RT/Moscow and TomDispatch.com. He has worked as a foreign correspondent since 1985, in Western Europe, North America and all across Asia, and is the author of Globalistan: How the Globalized World is Turning into Liquid War; Red Zone Blues; and Obama does Globalistan, all published by Nimble Books.

Interview: China-ASEAN defense meeting shows China's peaceful stance: Philippine political analyst

News | 19.10.2015 | 00:09

Xinhua - China's hosting of a meeting among defense ministers of the ten-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a welcome development and a clear sign of China's peaceful stance, a respected Philippine political analyst Jose Cortez has said.

Speaking of Beijing's hosting of an informal gathering of ASEAN defense ministers this week, Cortez told Xinhua in a recent interview: "I think the gathering will definitely ease tension in the area."

"It is superb confidence-building measure that clearly indicates that China is not going to use force in settling the South China Sea row as consistently bandied around by the U.S.," he said.

Cortez, who writes in-depth analysis in the Philippine Graphic, a weekly news magazine in Manila, said that China's move would help preserve the peace and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region, one of the fastest growing regions in the world.

In the interview with Xinhua, Cortez also expressed fears that the U.S. is just using the maritime dispute in South China Sea to sow dissension among countries in the region as part of its "pivot to Asia" policy.

As part of this pivot, Cortez said, the United States is now expanding its military presence in the Philippines by holding joint military exercises with Philippine troops.

The Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) between the United States and the Philippines was signed on April 28, 2014 in Manila.

The EDCA seeks to bolster the U.S.-Philippines security relationship by allowing the United States to station troops and operations on Philippine territory.

Israelis Are Today’s Nazis by Stephen Lendman

Israel terrorizes Palestinians the same way Nazis brutalized Jews - disgracefully supported by Western regimes and supportive media, ignoring decades of racist persecution, including ongoing genocidal high crimes demanding accountability. More on Israeli ruthlessness below.

Resistance against Nazi tyranny during WW II occurred in every occupied country, as well as in Germany - from Hitler’s rise to power until the Third Reich’s fall in spring 1945, including plans to oust Hitler and end the scourge of Nazism.

Throughout occupied Europe, Russian, French, Dutch, Belgian, Slavic, Polish, Scandinavian, even Italian resistance challenged its ruthlessness.

Heroic individuals and groups operated underground - risking their lives for freedom, including committing acts of sabotage against Axis powers, as well as working with allied countries.

They were hailed as courageous patriots, freedom fighters for peace, equity and justice, partisans on the right side of history.

Scores of notable figures were cited for challenging Nazi (and imperial Japanese) tyranny, including France’s Charles de Gaulle, Yugoslavia’s Josip Tito and Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh, plus numerous others most people forgot.

Soviet partisans were especially heroic, waging unrelenting guerrilla war against Nazi occupiers - from behind enemy lines and bases within Soviet-held territory, aided by the Red Army, involved in major operations, part of a four-year liberating struggle.

Palestinian resisters heroically challenge the scourge of Israel’s ruthless occupation - international law affirming the legitimacy of their struggle.

UN Resolution A/RES/3246 (XXIX) (November 1974) “(r)eaffirms the legitimacy of the peoples’ struggle for liberation form colonial and foreign domination and alien subjugation by all available means, including armed struggle.”

“Strongly condemns all Governments which do not recognize the right to self-determination and independence of peoples under colonial and foreign domination and alien subjugation, notably the peoples of Africa and the Palestinian people.”

UN Resolution A/RES/33/24 (November 1978) “(r)eaffirms the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples for independence, territorial integrity, national unity and liberation from colonial and foreign domination and foreign occupation by all available means, particularly armed struggle.”

Numerous other UN resolutions affirm the right of all occupied people oppressed by colonial foreign domination to use armed struggle for freedom - especially long-suffering Palestinians, ruthlessly occupied for nearly half a century, no end to their misery in prospect.

Israel considers all acts of resistance “terrorism,” including political activism and young children throwing stones - its own high crimes of war and against humanity misportrayed as defending national security.

On Sunday, protesters for Palestinian rights took to European streets, denouncing Israeli violence. London Palestine Action activists marched to BBC headquarters, expressing “solidarity for Palestinian resistance.” One addressed others participating, saying:

“We know that as long as the UK media keeps repeating Israeli government press releases and portraying Palestinians as either only helpless victims or violent aggressors, we have to shout out loud that there is (the) right of an occupied people to resist” - affirmed under international law as explained above.

Jewish EuroPalestine president Olivia Zemor is barred from entering Israel. She told hundreds of Palestinian supporters in Paris:

“The Israeli government has chosen to provoke the Palestinians, to humiliate them, to be involved in the escalation of violence, because the media spotlight is elsewhere at the moment.”

She called on the Hollande regime to stop supporting the “terrorist Israeli state,” adding:

“Today we stand behind the Palestinians and we aren't ready to negotiate, since there is nothing to negotiate. The only thing that remains is to take up arms.”

Israel doesn’t negotiate. It demands, unwilling ever to accept Palestinian self-determination, pursuing longstanding slow-motion genocide. The only solution is sustained, committed resistance. Nothing else can work.

Occupation and Persecution: The Sole Cause of Violence in Palestine

Occupation and Persecution: The Sole Cause of Violence in Palestine

by Stephen Lendman

Palestinians are not knife-wielding terrorists as scurrilous Western and Israeli reports claim - disgracefully highlighted by presstitute scoundrels, ignoring decades of Palestinian suffering and ruthless occupation harshness.

Israel bears full responsibility for ongoing violence, planned and instigated by Netanyahu’s Arab-hating fascist regime - with full support from neocons infesting Washington, part of their longstanding scheme for world dominance by brute force and genocidal elimination of opposition.

Unrestrained state terror is official US and Israeli policy. The only way to stop daily violence and persecution in Palestine is by ending occupation and effectively challenging US imperial lawlessness.

Washington arms and funds Israel’s killing machine. America is a nation of morons, most people entirely out-of-touch with vital homeland and geopolitical events affecting their lives, well-being and futures.

Public indifference and ignorance lets neocons in Washington get away with mass murder and much more. Daily disseminated propaganda portrays despots running America and Israel as democrats.

Palestinian victims are held responsible for their crimes. It’s all their fault, claim official reports and supportive media.

New York Times misinformation is typical of what Western and Israeli media report. “Israel has every right to defend its citizens, and it should,” wrote Times editors - a disgraceful example of turning truth on its head.

State terrorism is ignored. Serial killing is called victimization. Longstanding persecuted Palestinians are criminalized for their own misery, over which they have no control, nor is any outside aid forthcoming to help them.

They’re entirely on their own. No ruling authority represents them. Israeli-installed puppets in Ramallah are their enemy. So is the entire Western world and most Arab states, despotic regimes supporting US imperial lawlessness, cozying up to Israel quietly, terrorizing their own people and others, ruling by brute force.

Big Lies dominate daily headlines. Close Netanyahu advisor/Israeli ambassador to Washington Ron Dermer absurdly claims settlements (on stolen Palestinian land) have nothing to do with ongoing violence.

“When it comes to the Middle East, you find very smart people believing in very foolish things,” he said. “There are some people who believe that these attacks are happening because of the territories that Israel captured in the Six-Day War or because of the peace process.”

“The match was not the settlements or the lack of a peace process…(T)he idea that renewing the peace process or withdrawing from the territories will somehow stop terror is a fiction.”

Fact: Majority Palestinians lived peacefully with minority Jews in Palestine for generations - until Balfour changed everything nearly 100 years ago, while WW I raged.

Fact: No peace process exists - not earlier, not now, not ever because Israel categorically rejects it. Violence and instability serve its agenda - used to misportray Palestinians as Jew-hating terrorists.

Fact: Illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian land along with decades of occupation harshness justifiably enrage Palestinians to resist. International law affirms their right to wage a heroic struggle for freedom - what people everywhere deserve.

Dermer blames Israel’s worst crimes on Palestinians - the Big Lie about “decades of incitement by (their) leaders against Israel…poisoning an entire generation to hate Israel and hate Jews…A generation of Palestinians have (sic) grown up in a society that glorifies the murder of Jews.”

What better example of blaming victims for state-sponsored terrorism - endlessly repeated. Most people never hear hard truths, instead are willfully and maliciously lied to, by Western and Israeli officials as well as media scoundrels, a complicit lying machine suppressing what everyone needs to know.

On Saturday, Israel’s defense minister Moshe Ya’alon (a notorious racist) said “(t)he fight against terrorism requires determination, patience and judgment.”

“IDF forces, Israel Police and the Shin Bet security service have made every effort to thwart and prevent terrorist attacks. The State of Israel is employing a heavy hand against the terrorists and their dispatchers, whether they are associated with groups or (acting) as individuals.”

Translation: Israel reserves the right to mass murder Palestinians with impunity, including waging wars of aggression at its discretion. Jewish rights alone matter. State terrorism is considered self-defense.

US Joint Chiefs of Staff General “fighting Joe” Dunford visited Israel on Saturday. He met with senior regime officials and IDF commanders. His purpose: affirming Washington’s full support for Israeli state terror, as well as discussing possible increased US military aid - on top of billions of dollars annually for its killing machine.

He’s visiting other US regional  allies, discussing ways to counter Russian intervention against ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria.

On Friday, Obama showed his one-sided support for Israel - disgracefully saying it has the “right maintain basic law and order and protect its citizens from knife attacks and violence on the streets,” ignoring daily Israeli mass murder and brutality.

New York mayor Bill de Blasio arrived in Israel on Saturday - expressing solidarity with its killing machine.

Palestine is a free-fire war zone, heavily armed soldiers and police murdering defenseless Palestinians in cold blood - each incident claimed to be in self-defense against a knife-wielding terrorist.

The same excuse used every time to justify over 40 killings (targeting victimized men, women, youths and children) is prima facie proof of a Big Lie - using a few instances of Palestinians either stabbing or attempting to stab Israelis as justification for unrestrained lethal shootings, most often killing innocent victims of state-sponsored racist hatred.

Truth is systematically turned on its head. Victims are called perpetrators, terrorists. State-sponsored murderers are considered public defenders, heroes.

Western and Israeli media consistently report official Big Lies, suppressing hard truths everyone needs to know. Portraying Palestinians as knife-wielding terrorists and Israeli murderers as heroes is one of the most despicable mischaracterizations about life in Occupied Palestine.
