US-Peace Council: Friendship and Solidarity with the Struggles of the Venezuelan People

The US Peace Council declares its firm friendship and solidarity with the struggles of the Venezuelan people to create their own society, determine their own destiny and protect their sovereign rights
as a people and nation. We applaud the efforts of the Venezuelan people, through the Bolivarian Revolution, to create a society that will eliminate poverty, discrimination, injustice and use its resources to benefit the people, and not the oligarchs.

We reject the outrageous declaration by President Barack Obama, on behalf of the United States transnational corporations, that these efforts are a “threat to the US national security”. Obama’s message is that imperialist United States wishes to restore the century old relations of US exploitation of the people of Venezuela and their natural resources, installing domestic lackeys
willing to sell out the interests of the people.

The US Peace Council recognizes its responsibility, in the name of international solidfrity, to alert the large peace andf solidarity movement in the United States, and through them, the people of our country to the dangers of the imperialist Obama policy. We will work together with the international peace movement to thwart the nefarious plans of the imperialists.

We extend our fraternal hands to the people of Venezuela. Together we will win!

Yours in Peace,
Alfred L. Marder
President, US Peace COuncl
