| How Syrians become Turkish Cititzens |
Because of the two-and-a-half-year-old Syrian conflict, hundreds of thousands of Syrian people have taken refuge in Turkey.
Apart from refugee camps, Syrian people have been placed in different parts of Turkey. It is claimed those people become Turkish citizen. While it is discussed whether Syrian people will become Turkish citizen, a new document has been released and it shows that some of the Syrian people in Turkey have been naturalized and have got Turkish identity cards.
According to news by Cengiz Aldemir from daily Sözcü, Syrian refugees who have got temporary identity document now have got Turkish identity card. However, number of Syrian people who have got Turkish identity card is not known yet. They obtain Turkish identity cards not from the register office of the city they live in but from another city. And reason for issue is shown as ‘loss’.
CHP Hatay Parliamentarian Mehmet Ali Edipoğlu, has supported the claim with the document he has got. In the picture below you can see Turkish identity card of Ayşe Eşki, a Syrian refugee in Turkey.
