Refugees: As Europe Sows, So Shall It Reap by Elena PONOMAREVA

The news coming out of Europe lately is becoming increasingly reminiscent of reports from the front line. In Austria, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia and Serbia, police are clashing with illegal immigrants, hundreds of thousands of whom have made a beeline for Europe. A number of governments are considering using their armies and even NATO Response Forces to protect their borders, but this, together with the possible collapse of Schengen and the construction of walls along the borders of national states, will not save Europe.
Scenes from the film World War Z provide an outline for how events will develop: there are no walls that can protect against huge influxes of people who have nothing to lose and who have no future in their own countries engulfed in permanent wars at the evil will of the ‘game masters’. The roots of the problem stem from the nature of global capitalism as a world of pillaging and profiteering that has instigated a new great migration of peoples in the second decade of the 21st century.
Armed conflicts and wars, which, in some way or other, the US and its allies have had a hand in unleashing, are the main reason for the migration crisis currently engulfing Europe. The influx of refugees to Europe is a result of the purposeful effort to destabilise large geopolitical areas. This influx will not stop until somebody puts an end to this destabilization. The onset of the incalculable migration pressure on the Old World could easily have been predicted and calculated, meaning that the actions that led to the creation of the force upending Europe before our very eyes had a direct benefit for those who took them.

The main beneficiaries of an organised mass exodus of people from the Third World to Europe are multinational companies. The future being prepared for Europe, which is being turned into a new melting pot, was clearly hinted at by US President Barack Obama when in May 2011 (the bloody feud in Syria had only just begun), while speaking in London, he let slip a meaningful phrase: «This century will be the century for the birth of new nations.» There is no better place in the world for the development of new nations than Europe. I think, however, that the cruel experiment on Europe is only the beginning, only the first stage of a large global reconfiguration.
Important institutions in the West have been looking at the issues surrounding the displacement of large numbers of people for decades. Also in 2011, the London School of Economics and the Brookings Institute (US) presented the Project on Internal DisplacementThe main focus of this curious document was given to the development of mechanisms for the resettling of large numbers of people from different parts of the world. The justification for this interest was the possibility of a global climate catastrophe – «a new Ice Age». Among other things, the project worked out migration routes from the North Atlantic to Northern Eurasia. People only know about the public part of this document, however. I am not ruling out the possibility that some of the project’s recommendations are currently being piloted in Europe. The process seems to be perfectly organised. The refugees are well dressed, have the very latest mobile phones and the money to travel the length of Europe, information about the best routes, etc...
It is worth noting that since 2004, Strobe Talbottthe former US Deputy Secretary of State responsible for relations with Russia in Clinton’s administration, has been the president of the Brookings Institute that worked on the Project on Internal Displacement.
At present, there is an endless stream of refugees stretching to Europe from conflict zones created as a result of the interventionist policy of the US and its allies, but the European Commission is putting all the costs associated with supporting these new migrants on the shoulders of ordinary European taxpayers, mockingly referring to it as «a fair distribution of responsibility for the fate of refugees».
This is only one aspect of the emergency situation created in Europe, however. Elena Guskova, a leading Russian expert on the Balkans, has pointed out another aspect. «While in Belgrade in June (2015 – E.P.),» she wrote, «I noticed that young people who did not speak Serbian and who did not look like refugees began to appear regularly in the city. They usually walked around in threes and tried to blend in, although their athletic builds were striking. These close-knit trios of ‘aliens’ were also seen in other Serbian cities, but information about them in the media was sketchy. The majority of the ‘refugees’ that appeared in Serbia were men no older than 27, 94 per cent of them were Muslim and 56 per cent were without families. They did not like being photographed and were not short of cash...»
Back then, at the start of summer, this observation was wrongly ignored! Why these strong young men are leaving their families at home and travelling to Europe, what they have been trained in and what they are planning to do are all questions that demand an immediate and urgent response.
While studying the experience of the French Revolution, Arnold Toynbee once wrote that the worst time for Europe will come when the internal and external proletarians unite. It seems that this «worst time», the arrival of which was predicted by Arnold Toynbee, MI6’s agent at London’s Royal Institute of International Affairs, is on the way. The radical elements infiltrating the migration flows to Europe will easily find supporters among the extremist youth of France, Spain and Italy. On the other hand, there will be an attempt to extend the tentacles of the Islamic State to Europe.
The migrant avalanche of 2015 is, of course, a delayed reaction to decades of Western policy towards the Third World. But also, it is a controlled process, the «Project on Internal Displacement» in action. As has already happened many times in history, Europe is once again standing at an epoch-making fork in the road.

To be or not to be? It seems that a definitive answer to Hamlet’s question is being demanded from Europe this time. The half measures being resorted to by the European Commission to preserve Europe as a civilisation are failing.
Firstly, increasing the burden on national budgets during an economic crisis will be punishing and, in a number of cases, a backbreaking load for both governments and citizens. Secondly, tightening control and the possible review of or even withdrawal from the Schengen Agreements will seriously exacerbate tensions within the European Union by shifting the burden of supporting the migrant hordes to the weakest. None of this will protect Europe, but will only lead to the creation of barbarian provinces similar to those that formed a ring around and destroyed the Roman Empire in the first centuries AD.
In order to survive and preserve itself as a civilisation, Europe needs to combat the causes rather than the consequences. The migration process will continue for as long as the multinational corporations and supranational power structures continue to destroy and pillage all those around the world unable to fight back.
So what is it to be, Europe? Are you in favour of pillaging or against it?
