COMRADE PERIN ROMESH CHANDRA IS NO MORE
The Secretariat of the All India Peace & Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) express its sincere
condolences at the demise of the veteran Communist and iconic leader of the Peace
movement Comrade Perin Romesh Chandra who passed away today on 7th January, 2015 in
Mumbai.
Com. Perin Romesh Chandra played an important role in Indian peace movement as well as formation of the All India Peace Council and later on the All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation. Under her leadership the AIPSO led numerous struggles in support of liberation movement of South Africa, Vietnam, Palestine, Bangladesh etc and contributed greatly to strengthen the international peace and solidarity movement and World Peace Council. The AIPSO became the biggest peace movement in Asia-Pacific region.
The Secretariat of AIPSO salute the memory of Comrade Perin Romesh Chandra and convey their heartfelt condolences to her husband Comrade Romesh Chandra, her son
Firoze and daughter-in-law Chandita as well to all her family members & comrades.
Comrade Sitaram Yechury, Presidium Member of AIPSO in his condolence message said “I have closely worked with Com. Perin for nearly two decades. A remarkable life of dedication, commitment, integrity and undiluted humanism of the best kind”
Com. D. Raja another Presidium member of AIPSO and Pallab Sengupta, General Secretary of AIPSO also spoke with her son Feroze and daughter-in law Chandita and expressed their condolences.
