Putin expressed hope that he would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the BRICS and APEC summits in November, further deepening the alliance between Russia and China. The Russian President then proceeded to sent a clear message directed at the EU and Emmanuel Macron, clarifying that Russia has fully aligned with China and nothing the EU could offer would have the ability to sway Russia back towards a western orbit.
