"Der Besuch des Befehlshaber aller Streitkräfte der NATO und der USA in Europa,  Frederick „Ben“ Hodges, in der vergangenen Woche im Zentralen Militär-Krankenhaus in Kiew besuchte, seine Dekoration eines Soldaten der ukrainischen Armee mit einem Ehrenzeichen der 7. US-Armee, also der  US ArmyEurope (USAREU),  dessen Erwiderung- Worte  "Ich bin stolz darauf, wie Sie ihrem Land dienen"); die Deutschlandfunk - Meldung hörte, das die USA erwägen Waffen im Werte von 3 Milliarden Dollar an Kiew zu liefern, das alles hat mich das zu weiterer Recherche veranlasst - http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh_United_States_Army -.

Der „Arbeitsplatz“ von Generalleutnant Friedrick  '' Ben ''  Hodges ist das General John Shalikashvili Mission Command Center, kurz Shali Center, in Wiesbaden.  Es beherbergt auf vier Etagen das Kommando- und Führungszentrum (Combined Operations Intelligence Center) der U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR).

Benannt ist das Command Center in Wiesbaden nach dem US-amerikanischen General John M. Shalikashvili. - http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_M._Shalikashvili -

Das sein Vater, Dimitri Shalikasvili, nach dem Überfall des deutschen Faschismus auf die Sowjetunion 1941, Mitglied der der SS unterstellten "Georgischen Brigade" war, liegt nicht in seinem Verantwortungsbereich. Ein Hindernis in seiner Karriere im US-amerikanischen Militär, - die Vielzahl seiner unterschiedlichsten "Verwendungen" ist laut "Wikipedia" durchaus beeindruckend -,  war dieser Sachverhalt jedoch nicht.

Für uns, als Frankfurter Solidaritätskomitee für Syrien, ist der nachfolgende Wikipedia-Hinweis vielleicht am aufschlussreichsten: "1991 kommandierte er die Operation Provide Comfort, die den Kurden im Nordirak Schutz und Unterstützung vor Saddam Husseins Armee bieten sollte."

Geostrategisch bleibt für den Krieg gegen Syrien, aus meiner Sicht, die Vorgabe: "Schlag gegen Syrien - Ziel Russland".

Noch gefährlicher entwickelt sich aktuell die Situation in der Ukraine. 

Jan Myrdal  (88-jähriger schwedischer Schriftsteller und Friedensaktivist) schreibt in einem kürzlich erschienen Artikel dazu:

„Wenn es Russland jetzt nicht glücken sollte, die EU und die USA abzuschrecken und zum Rückzug zu veranlassen, wie wir mit der damals existierenden internationalen Linken es schafften, die Kriegsgefahr 1952 abzuwehren (u. a. der Stockholmer Apell), dann sind unsere individuellen Chancen zu überleben in den nächsten Jahren sehr gering“.

Alle friedensbewegten Menschen müssen klar erkennen, dass die NATO der Aggressor ist, dass Rußland demgegenüber die Friedensmacht in Europa ist.

Eine Forderung in der deutschen Friedensbewegung muss folglich lauten: Deutschland raus aus der NATO, NATO raus aus Deutschland.

Schlussendlich muss die NATO aufgelöst werden.

Wenn es zu Kundgebungen vor dem "Shali Center" in Wiesbaden kommt, sollten wir uns als FSKFS, nach meiner Meinung, daran beteiligen."

Obama’s words on power transition in Ukraine confirm US involvement in state coup - Lavrov

TASS - The statement of US President Barack Obama on the United States role in "brokering power transition" in Ukraine confirms that Washington was involved in the February state coup, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday. Speaking about Obama’s interview with CNN on Sunday, Lavrov said the US leader confirmed that the US has been "since the very beginning involved in an anti-governmental coup which Obama called neutrally a "power transition." "The rhetoric that sounded in the interview speaks about Washington’s intention to further do everything to implicitly support the actions of the current Kiev authorities which have apparently taken the course towards suppressing the conflict by force only," Lavrov said. The Russian foreign minister said Europe also shares the assessment that there is a need to establish a direct dialogue between the Kiev authorities and the representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics. However, Lavrov said this effort has encountered attempts to disrupt the negotiation process. "But I’m convinced that everyone who sincerely wishes peace to the Ukrainian people, and Russia is definitely among these countries like as I understand are Germany, France and other Europeans, and the OSCE, then we need to continue this effort and do everything so that the direct dialogue is launched and should bring the results," Lavrov said. Lavrov noted that while the Western partners call for a dialogue between the authorities and the opposition across the world, including in Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan and South Sudan, Ukraine remains an exception. "In regard to Ukraine, the Western colleagues are only speaking about that the main issue is to provide every support to the actions of Kiev," Lavrov said, adding that Kiev’s evident wrongful actions are not being criticized. "We support a direct dialogue and will be actively involved in it as a party that contributes to the work of the Contact Group. And simply as Ukraine’s neighbor, we have been doing a lot to support its economy," he said. "Across the globe, in any conflict the Western counterparts are calling for dialogues between the authorities and the opposition - take for example Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, or South Sudan," he said. "And for some reasons, Ukraine is an exception, and referring to Ukraine the Western counterparts are not saying anything about a dialogue, they are saying only that it is necessary to support by all means actions of Kiev, and do not criticise the evident negative actions taken by the Ukrainian authorities." "A direct dialogue is highly necessary there. We shall be working on it as a country, which support work of the Contact Group and as a country neighbouring Ukraine, and as a member OSCE," Lavrov said.

in Neuss und der 

damit einhergehenden Diffamierung des Vereins Handala e.V. 

In dieser Woche wurde die Veranstaltungsreihe 

Nahost

der VHS Neuss vom Bürgermeister der 

Stadt Neuss, Herrn Herbert Napp (CDU), verboten. Der Fraktionsvorsitzende der Partei Die LINKE 

in Neuss geht sogar noch weiter und fordert den Rüc

ktritt des VHS-Leiters. Auch unsere 

Ausstellung „Haft ohne Anklage“, die sich mit der von Israel praktizierten Administrativhaft sowie 

deren Auswirkungen auf die palästinensische Bevölke

rung auseinandersetzt, sollte im Rahmen 

dieser Nahost-Reihe gezeigt werden. 

Herrn Napps Behauptung, die Veranstaltungsreihe sei einseitig, ist völlig aus der Luft gegriffen. Die 

im Rahmen der Nahost-Reihe geplanten Veranstaltunge

n sollten kritisch die israelische 

Besatzungspolitik beleuchten. Als einseitig kann di

es nur von jemandem bezeichnet werden, der 

weder die Situation in den besetzten palästinensisc

hen Gebieten noch die Auswirkungen der 

israelischen Besatzungspolitik auf die palästinensi sche Bevölkerung kennt. Allen Beteiligten ging 

es darum, sich konstruktiv mit dem Thema auseinande

rzusetzen und Möglichkeiten für eine 

friedliche Zukunft für Israel und Palästina aufzuweisen. 

Unsere Ausstellung ist innerhalb eines Jahres im Ra

hmen eines wissenschaftlichen 

Forschungsprojekts an der Philipps-Universität Marb urg entstanden und wurde bereits erfolgreich 

in Marburg, Kassel, Hamburg und Aachen gezeigt. Sie beruht zu großen Teilen auf Berichten von 

Amnesty International, der palästinensischen Mensch

enrechtsorganisation Addameer und den 

israelischen Menschenrechtsorganisationen B’Tselem 

und HaMoked. Unsere Kritik an der 

israelischen Administrativhaft steht in Einklang mi

t dem UN-Menschenrechtsrat, dem höchsten 

Gremium zur Überwachung der Einhaltung der Menschenrechte weltweit. 

Dies alles immunisiert die Ausstellung nicht gegen 

Kritik. Im Gegenteil: erst eine sorgfältig 

recherchierte und belegte Argumentation bietet die 

Grundlage für wirklich fruchtbare 

Auseinandersetzung. Als Bürgermeister der Stadt Neu

ss jedoch ohne Rückgriff auf jegliche 

Expertise und höchstwahrscheinlich ohne die Ausstel

lung auch nur einmal zu Gesicht bekommen 

zu haben kurzerhand zu urteilen, erscheint uns mehr

als vermessen. Die öffentliche Verbreitung 

einer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit, die Teil einer politischen Diskussion ist, schlichtweg zu verbieten, 

ist ein deutlicher Eingriff in die grundrechtlich g

arantierte Meinungsfreiheit. Ein solcher Schritt 

sollte besser begründet sein als durch den pauschal

en Verweis auf eine angebliche „Einseitigkeit“ 

der Darstellung. Das Verbot zeigt somit einmal mehr

, dass scheinbar keinerlei Interesse daran 

besteht, sich mit zentralen Aspekten des Konflikts – die aufgrund der asymmetrischen Verhältnisse 

zwischen Besatzungsmacht und besetztem Volk nicht o

hne Kritik an der israelischen 

Besatzungspolitik auskommen können – auseinanderzusetzen. Im Gegenteil: durch das Verbot wird 

vielmehr unterbunden, dass eine durchaus auch kontr

overs geführte Diskussion im Anschluss an 

Vorträge und Veranstaltungen stattfinden kann. 

Im Zuge dieses Verbots kommt es nun vermehrt zu Di

ffamierungen gegenüber dem Verein 

Handala sowie gegenüber der Vereinsvorsitzenden Nora Demirbilek. Es wird behauptet, der Verein 

nehme eine israelfeindliche/israelhassende Haltung 

ein. Genauso absurd ist die Behauptung, die 

vom Verein konzipierte Ausstellung dürfe sich nicht ausschließlich mit der von Israel praktizierten 

Form der Administrativhaft beschäftigen, sondern mü

sse auch andere Länder, die diese Form der 

Haft praktizieren, in den Fokus nehmen. Der Verein Handala e.V. hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, 

die Öffentlichkeit für die Situation der Palästinen

serInnen zu sensibilisieren sowie eine kritische 

und gleichzeitig sachliche Diskussion über den Isra

el/Palästina Konflikt zu fördern (siehe unter 

anderem § 2 Vereinszweck der Satzung; sowie auch Zi

ele unseres Vereins: 

https://handalamarburg.wordpress.com). Damit hat er

sich einen eindeutigen regionalen und 

thematischen Fokus gesetzt. 

Unsere Ausstellung verweist bereits zu Beginn darau

f, dass die Administrativhaft nicht 

ausschließlich in Israel zur Anwendung kommt. Angem

erkt sei dennoch, dass Israel weltweit der 

einzige Staat ist, in dem Administrativhaft einen i

ntegralen Bestandteil des nationalen 

Rechtssystems bildet: Die Implementierung der Admin

istrativhaft erfolgt sowohl im 

binnenländischen Gesetzesrecht Israels als auch in 

der Militärlegislative der besetzten 

palästinensischen Gebiete. Die Ausstellung belegt d

arüber hinaus, dass die israelische Regierung 

und die israelischen Sicherheitskräftebei der Durchführung der Administrativhaftregelmäßig gegen 

internationales Recht und die in diesem klar definierten Bedingungen und Auflagen verstoßen. 

Unser Verein arbeitet seit seiner Gründung mit palä stinensischen und israelischen sowie deutschen 

und internationalen AktivistInnen, WissenschaftlerI

nnen und Menschenrechtsorganisationen 

zusammen. Wenn Mensch sich die Ausstellung angescha

ut hätte, dann wäre sowohl aus den von 

uns ausgewählten InterviewpartnerInnen, der Literatur/Quellen, auf die sich die Ausstellung stützt 

sowie aus dem Statement der UnterstützerInnen der Ausstellung eindeutig hervorgegangen, dass die 

Anschuldigungen und Diffamierungen gegen den Verein

sowie gegen die Vereinsvorsitzende 

durchweg haltlos sind. 

Gleichermaßen distanziert sich Handala e.V. entschi

eden von dem Antisemitismus-Vorwurf und 

weist darauf hin, dass die relativierende Verwendun

g von “Antisemitismus” als Parole zum 

Totschlag-Ideologem vollkommen fremdbestimmter Inte

ressen geronnen ist (vgl. Zuckermann, 

Moshe: 

Antisemit! Ein Vorwurf als Herrschaftsinstrument

, Wien: ProMedia, S. 8), die jegliche 

notwendige Kritik an den Lebensrealitäten in Israel

und den besetzten palästinensischen Gebieten 

zu verunglimpfen versucht. Antisemitismus ist ein s

chwerwiegender Vorwurf, der gut begründet 

sein sollte. Er kann nicht einfach, wie in unserem 

Fall, pauschal, ohne auch nur irgendeinen 

Verweis auf eine konkret getätigte antisemitische Ä

ußerung oder Handlung, vorgebracht werden. 

Dies stellt eine öffentlich rufschädigende Diffamie

rung dar, gegen die wir uns aufs Schärfste 

verwahren. 

Wir sehen sowohl die internationale Staatengemeinsc

haft als auch deren Zivilgesellschaft in der 

politischen und moralischen Verantwortung, zu hande ln. Diese Verantwortung besteht auch darin, 

die Öffentlichkeit davon zu überzeugen, dass nicht 

weiterhin auf der Basis von durch Hegemonie 

und Dominanz geleiteten politischen Verhandlungen ü

ber Frieden geredet wird und dabei 

gleichzeitig unter anderem mit der Expansion israelischer Siedlungen in den besetzten Gebieten, der 

Konfiszierung von palästinensischem Land sowie auch mit der Praxis der Administrativhaft Fakten 

geschaffen werden, die einem Frieden für die israel

ische und die palästinensische Bevölkerung 

entgegenwirken. Vielmehr muss zunächst Gerechtigkei

t auf der Grundlage des internationalen 

Menschen- und Völkerrechts umgesetzt werden, denn G erechtigkeit bildet stets die Voraussetzung 

für Frieden.

Mission Imperative: Why the West and Kiev Regime Must Kill the Truth

The detention, incommunicado, of two female Russian journalists over the weekend by Kiev’s secret police, the SBU, was said to be on the grounds of «national security». That admission by the Kiev authorities, ironically, reveals more than is intended. Journalists «armed» only with cameras threatening national security, you may ask? Yes, you better believe it – because any truth being reported about the nature of the Western-backed Kiev regime and its military onslaught in eastern Ukraine is indeed a very real «security threat» – the threat of being exposed for war crimes and unlawful aggression towards Russia. The legal consequences for the Kiev regime and its Western patrons would be devastating.  The two journalists were named as correspondent Elizaveta Khramtsova and photographer Natalia Kalysheva, who both work for LifeNews based in Moscow. The media outlet’s director Markian Lubkovsky reportedly said he only found out about the detention of his staff after one of them managed to make a hurried phone call before they were «disappeared». Their whereabouts was not known even after several hours from them having been taken into detention. That amounts to abduction and is a grave abuse of international law. Russia’s foreign ministry has demanded that the pair be released immediately. The Kiev-based SBU reportedly would only confirm that the two women will be «expelled in the near future» and that they would be denied future entry into Ukraine. A second aspect for this heavy-handed treatment of Russian journalists is this: the absolute imperative prevention of the West’s false propaganda against Russia over the Ukraine conflict being completely exposed. More than 80 Russian professional journalists have been expelled from Ukrainian territory since the conflict erupted last year. At least four have been killed by live fire from the Kiev forces. What are the Kiev regime and its Western supporters afraid of? Washington and its European allies, as well as the NATO military alliance, have for months been churning out claims and bald assertions that Russia has invaded eastern Ukraine with thousands of troops and mechanised divisions. These provocative claims of Russian «aggression» have been amplified, unswervingly and without the slightest investigation or verification, by all Western mainstream media outlets, including the BBC, France 24, Deutsche Welle, CNN and the New York Times.  Strangely, these multi-million-dollar Western media corporations do not seem to have the resources to send teams of reporters and camera crews into the eastern Ukraine conflict zones of Donetsk and Luhansk to give appropriate extensive coverage. You would think such an assignment would a basic priority, given the supposed duty to report on extreme violence and also given the all-out-war implications of Western accusations against Moscow. Instead, Western corporate media rely inordinately, and tellingly, on the US State Department, NATO and dubious Kiev regime «sources». Never perhaps has a war on the European landmass been so under-reported in the real sense of proper reporting. Why such a dearth of on-location news? Again, what are they afraid of? Why the studied reluctance by Western media to find out «the story»? And a big story at that. In fact, on the rare occasion that the Western media bother to report from the Ukraine conflict location, the information uncovered tends to contradict, or at least not substantiate, the Western grand narrative that claims it’s all Russia’s fault for stealthily subverting Ukraine. On countless occasions, the august New York Times – America’s supposed finest bastion of journalism – has been found fabricating or peddling uncorroborated claims of Russian military presence in Ukraine. NYT’s reporters have also confirmed in one rare report from the location – albeit in an oblique way – that the self-defence militia of Donetsk and Luhansk are manned by local inhabitants, not Russian covert forces, and that the militia are not secretly being armed by the Russian state. Yet this basic fact has not stopped the NYT from, at all other times, peddling rumour and innuendo that fit with the anti-Russian narrative. In another rare report, post-Minsk ceasefire, the NYT also confirmed that the Western-backed Kiev military was shelling indiscriminately, without knowing the coordinates of enemy self-defence fighters. The NYT jokingly referred in that report to the Kiev artillery using «fire and forget» practices. Bear in mind that nearly 5,000 people have been killed since the Kiev regime launched its offensive 10 months ago. Over half of the victims are civilians and many of them have been killed from indiscriminate shelling by Kiev’s army and National Guard units, firing on residential centres with rockets, mortars and ballistic missiles. The town of Gorlovka near Donetsk provides a snapshot of the whole criminal story, with nearly 100 civilians, including young children, dying from incessant shelling of houses, apartments, churches, hospitals, schools and public spaces by Kiev’s military since last April. So, now are approaching what the West and its Kiev puppet-regime fear most. Because such a perspective gets straight to the point: Russia has not invaded eastern Ukraine. Russia has not sent in tanks, artillery units, howitzers, or truckloads of assault riffles and rocket launchers. Humanitarian aid convoys are the only thing that Moscow has supplied.  Russian citizens who might be fighting in eastern Ukraine are private volunteers who have, of their own volition and at their own personal expense, taken the initiative to join the ethnic Russian self-defence militia as an act of solidarity with the Donbas people, with whom Russia has centuries of kinship with. The voluntary nature of these Russian fighters in eastern Ukraine has even been admitted – inadvertently – in a report by the CIA-directed news/propaganda outlet, Radio Free Europe (see previous SCF editions of this column for more details on the above NYT and RFE reports, published on this site on May 7, 2014 and October 29, 2014, respectively). Further to the salient point is that the Nazi-adulating regime in Kiev – brought to power in an illegal Western-sponsored coup last February – is committing huge crimes against humanity, including disposal of victims in mass graves and the use of cluster bombs on civilians centres. This regime is not a «pro-democracy movement» as the West mendaciously and outrageously pretends. It is propped up and allowed to continue its criminal offensive through billions of dollars of financial and military aid from Washington and Brussels, courtesy of Western taxpayers’ money. Western governments, NATO and the Western news media thus stand accused of sponsoring, or being complicit in, state terrorism in eastern Ukraine. Western media complicity in distorting facts, suppressing the truth, and concealing systematic crimes is in itself a grave war crime under international law. There is no difference between the crimes of Josef Goebbels’ Nazi propaganda ministry and the functioning of the Western corporate news media. Both are guilty of facilitating war crimes and state terrorism, despite the latter’s pretensions of objectivity and independence.  Apart from rare, unintended Western admissions of the real situation in Ukraine, the only sources who are actually providing a semblance of the truth of the full Western-backed horror are citizen-bloggers from the eastern regions, as well as the self-declared independent authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics – who have refused to recognise the legitimacy of the Western-sponsored junta headed up by oligarch-president Petro Poroshenko and the CIA-asset prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. A third reputable source for information out of Ukraine’s killing fields and its blockaded eastern regions are Russian journalists. When three separate sources tell a consistent story then that is significant and one can reliably take it as a fair approximation of «the truth». As already noted, nearly 80 Russian journalists working for accredited news organisations have been detained by Kiev’s secret police and four have been killed in violent circumstances in eastern Ukraine. Video evidence and witness accounts indicate that these media workers were deliberately targeted by Kiev’s military – yet another war crime under international law. You can imagine the hue and cry if, say, BBC journalists were somehow shot dead or blown up by Russian forces. We would never hear the end of it. But when the Western-backed Kiev regime kills Russian journalists, well, that’s deemed not newsworthy by Western media. The twisted prejudice is probably that the Russian journos are «Kremlin spies» and therefore deserve it. The targeting of journalists in Ukraine is a stark exposure of the West’s fraudulent claims of venerating the right to free speech, which the West made such a song and dance about over the massacre at the Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris last month.  But, more importantly, the genuine operation of independent media coverage in Ukraine is a mortal threat to the existence of the Western-backed regime. That’s because it would illuminate the criminality of the junta and the collusion of Western governments and media in propping up the criminals. It would otherwise expose the odious Western narrative of trying to criminalise Russia as being entirely false and riven with lies. Western sanctions against Russia and the US-led NATO drumbeat of war would be seen for what they are: stacked up and framed on an edifice of falsehood, distortion and meretricious lies. It would turn out that it is not Moscow that should be sanctioned; it is Washington, Berlin, Paris and London and those other European governments that are backing this criminal regime in Kiev. There is a huge amount at stake in the West’s propaganda war against Russia. If Western propaganda were to be exposed then Western governments and media organisations should be prosecuted for gross breaches of international law, including capital offences and inciting a wider war with Russia. And Russia should likewise be compensated with billions of dollars for this unlawful aggression, including economic damages and defamation. Also, if the mass of people in the West were to know the full extent of their governments’ and media’s criminality there would be hell to pay on the streets. That is why Russian and other independent journalists must be – at all costs – killed, abducted, intimidated or deported from Ukraine by this Western-backed regime. The West cannot afford – absolutely cannot afford – to let the facts get in the way of their «story» that seeks to criminalise Russia.
