The World Peace Council (WPC) denounces vehemently the recent military attack of Israel againt Syrian targets around its capital Damascus.The recent air strikes of the Israeli army against Syria and its people is fully related and goes hand in hand with the support of the Israeli regime to the armed mercenary groups who are acting inside Syria and is is aiming at the further destabilization and violent regime change in Syria. The Israeli attack on Syria is unmasking the real "coalition" of the imperialist forces of USA,EU, its regional allies of Israel,Turkey and the reactionary Arab states with the armed fundamentalist groups who are spreading death and terror inside Syria. It consitutes a provocation and effort of escalation of the conflict, aiming at the regionalization of the war. The WPC underlines is firm opposition to the Israeli attacks and to the plans for the "Great Middle East" which are serving the interests of the Mutlinational monopolies to controll energy resources and spheres of influence. Now, it becomes even more clear that the deployment of the NATO patriot missiles at the Turkish-Syrian borders serves the plans to attack openly Syria in future.
The Israeli attack on Syria shows also the hypocrisy and double moral of the imperialist forces who did not condemn the attacks while they are backing the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights, the Lebanese Shebaa farms and the ongoing occupation of the Palestinian lands. It proofs also the double standards of the UN who are imposing sanctions on Syria while Israel is attacking its capital.
The WPC declares its solidarity with the Syrian People, for their right to defend their fatherland against any foreign interference and for their right to determine alone the fortunes of their country.
