Stop attacking besieged Gaza!

It seems that the 'Christian' Powers encourage  Israel to  do a very dirty job which cannot possibly be in the survival interest  of the Israeli nation. Without the support of the mighty nations the small state of Israel would not dare to continue its aggressive foreign  policy. This is why we, the citizens of the Western nations, nations with a Christian history, must  aks  our governments to halt this fateful policy.

 Are the latest attacks on the  besieged GAZA population a 'punishment' for the Palastinian plans to turn to the General Assembly of the United Nations for observer status of a future state of Palestine? Is the attack on Gaza the gesture of a dwarf who does not dare to attack the mightier ones? Is the assault of IDF a gesture  meant to guarantee  the right wings Israeli government to survive the elections?
Whatever it is meant to  be on a symbolic level,  it threatens the survival not only of the Palestinian people,  it is another violation of international and humanitarian law.  It needs to be  halted, it needs to be condemmed by all peace loving people around the globe.

basic principle for peace work

Basic Principles for Peacework in Times of War

If there is a name internationally known for committment to peace it is the name of Rosa Luxemburg.

This courageous and knowlegdeable women of Polish-Jewish origin, an economist by profession, was murdered by German militarists in January 1919 after having been released from prison only shortly before. The German military government had kept her in prison custody during the war, in order to silence her voice and to keep her apart from the masses.

In the name of Rosa Luxemburg, the Foundation of the Left Party in Germany held a symposium on „military politics“ in Potsdam as Dr. Lothar Schröder pointed out in his introductory statement on November 9th 2012 in the House of Brandenburg Prussia History Am Neuen Markt 9.
Rosa Luxemburgs name has been desecrated on that historical day of the November Progroms of 1938.

The official titel of the above named event was „14th Syposium on Peace and Security Issues - is the Iranian nuclear programm to be considered as civil or/and militar?“
.
With such a header the path is opened to go along with our government policy and to support the attitude of the Western allies who are considering warefare - and as NATO-members and partners - even nuclear warefare as a legitimate means of conflict solution.

But it was to come worse. Dr. Behrouz Kozrozadeh (Exil-Iranian) from the prestigeous university of Göttingen/Germany not only considered the „Iranian attitude of non-cooperation as very, very dangerous“ he qualified the Sha Regimes policies as less problematic because of it secularity and therefore predicatibility. This was not enough for the scholar invited in the name of Rosa Luxemburg. Dr. Kozrozadeh went on with open hate speech and accused the present „Iranian Regime of murder, fraud, lashing, rape of men and women, public executions in the presence of children“ In other words in his speech he accused „the Iranian regime of not knowing any moral or ethic boundaries and due its complete disrespect for international and humanitarian law would strive to achieve nuclear arms“. The climax of his statement in Potsdam on November 9th was to deplore that Pol Pot and Idi Amin, in spite of the atrocities committed in their name, died of a natural death . And he concluded that suchlike human right violaters must not be allowed to live on and die in peace.

Dr. Kozradeh was seconded by Giorgio Franceschini from „Hesse Foundation for Peace and Conflict Studies“ who demanded from „Iran to stop its genozidal rhetoric towards Israel“.

The small association of the German Peace Council which is closely linked with the „Rosa Luxemburg Foundation“ organised recently the 62nd „Peace Talks“ in conjunction with RSL,
titel „Another Syria is Possible“. The minutes reporting on the event which lead to an invitation by the „German Foundation for Sience and Politics“ (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik) an official adviser of the government. The minutes also deplore „an attitude within peace circles that sides with Assad“.

This said, it seems more than urgent to point out some essentials for peacework in times of war.

  • The basics for peace activism are layed down in the UN-Charta.
  • Non-Intervention in the internal affairs of souvereign nations are a condition for peaceful cooperation.
  • The respect for souvereignity is a keynote.
  • Any call for „regime change“ or a hypocritically assumed „responsibility to protect“ as an umbrella for military intervention are incompatible with international law, see UN Charta and the Conventions based on this precious document.
  • Peace must be based on justice if it is to last.
  • Peace workers must have the courage to criticise their own government in the very first place especially when it comes to nucelar arms policies and NATO adherence who claims and eternal right on nucelar weapons.
  • Peace workers must consequently say clearly no to any threat of war to an other nation.
  • Peace workers must take sides and inform themselves on global issues.
  • There doing must be publicly accessible and controllable and accountabiltiy of their leaders whose election must undergo democratic procedures.

Stop attacking besieged GAZA!

Gilad Atzmon: Pillar of Biblical Cloud

By Gilad Atzmon
Once again we've learned today that in the Jewish State, Goyim's blood translates into political power. In order to win the Israeli election, Benjamin Netanyahu feels the need to present the Israeli voter with a substantial pile of Palestinian corpses.
Like in the case of previous IDF's genocidal operations, the current Israeli Pillar of Cloud also has a Biblical connotation. In Exodus 13:21-22, you will find the following: “By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light,”
Seemingly, the current Israel murderous assault against civilians is consistent with the Zionist secular interpretation of the Old Testament. " …then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy.” (Deuteronomy 7:1-2). However, this time it isn’t God who guides his chosen people. It is actually a democratically elected war criminal that was chosen by God’s favourite people.
Some ‘progressive’ minds amongst us insist that we should never refer to the Jewishness of the 'Jewish State'. But I am afraid that considering the emerging level of Israeli barbarism and some clear Biblical connotations, such a critical tendency is inevitable.

Liebe freunde,

Stop the Aggression against Syria! Stop the Drive to War Against Iran

End the Aggression Against Syria! Stop the Drive to War Against Iran!

The Canadian government is called upon to act for peace, not promote war

The Canadian Peace Congress condemns the ongoing foreign intervention in Syria and the escalating drive to war against Iran, and calls for the immediate withdrawal of all Canadian, NATO and foreign mercenary forces from the region. We further call upon the Conservative government of Stephen Harper to restore and normalize its diplomatic relations with Syria and Iran, and to re-orient Canadian foreign policy toward peace, international cooperation and solidarity.
The Harper government's decision to adopt an international policy of belligerence, and to do so without consulting Parliament, is further evidence of its abandonment of a foreign policy of peace and diplomacy in favour of aggressive and hostile interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries. Syria and Iran are member states of the United Nations and have expressed no hostile intent towards Canada or its people. Prime Minister Harper is actively contributing to the danger of war, through hostile policies that are out of step with the Canadian peoples' longstanding support for peace.
The Canadian government has allied itself with a minority of Western governments who, along with pro-war forces within Israel and a few reactionary Arab regimes, are seeking new pretexts for intervention and war. These include the protection of human rights or the prevention of the alleged proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. These objectives cannot be achieved by breaking diplomatic relations, imposing economic sanctions, arming foreign mercenaries, or forging international campaigns for regime change and by installing puppet governments favourable to the strategic goals of the major western power.
Foreign intervention, sanctions and military aggression only weaken the human and democratic rights of the Syrian and Iranian people, and diminish their ability to develop and improve their societies. The aftermath of NATO intervention in Libya last year, in which Canadian armed forces bombed Libyan territory, has been disastrous for the people of Libya who are now plunged into factional warfare. This, plus the catastrophic consequences of the military occupation of Iraq, including the deaths of over one million Iraqis, clearly indicate that the main victim of any war is the civilian population.
As in the case of Libya last year, the drive to interfere in Syria and Iran is driven by the strategic and economic interests of imperialist powers. These countries – including the United States, Britain, the European Union and Canada – choose militarism and war as their preferred option for expanding their spheres of influence and control over resources and markets. The result is destruction, displacement and despair to the peoples of the developing countries who have been targeted. Far from resolving conflicts, these policies of interference only deepen current crises and escalate the danger to world peace.
Pro-war forces have seized upon the many complexities in the situations in Iran and Syria, to promote misinformation and confusion. The threat to peace in the Middle East does not arise from countries who exercise their sovereign right to develop the nuclear energy industries to build their economies. Nor does it originate with countries who oppose Western efforts to re-colonize the Middle East and control its vast energy resources, through the New Middle East Plan. Rather, the concrete threat to peace is the existing conventional and nuclear weapons that the US, its NATO allies and Israel constantly brandish in their effort to destabilize the region, to demonize governments that oppose imperialist plans, and to justify interference and war.
The Canadian Peace Congress asserts that the direction of economic, political and social development in any country is the sole right of the people of that country to determine, without foreign interference. We hold this principle to be true for the people of Canada, as we hold it to be true for the people of Syria and Iran. We are completely opposed to any foreign political or military intervention, under any pretext. This includes efforts to interfere with and divert genuine democratic domestic movements.
The role of the Canadian government in both of these crises has been shameful. Under Stephen Harper's Conservatives, Canada has abandoned its reputation as a country with an independent stance in international relations, and assumed the posture of a vocal NATO aggressor state. In all dimensions – political-diplomatic, economic and military – Canada's recent policies toward Syria and Iran have been geared toward three goals:
  1. Isolate and neutralize sources of information that conflict with imperialist aims, by cutting off communication with the governments and peoples in Syria and Iran;
  2. Increase the suffering of the people and generate anti-government sentiment, by imposing economic sanctions that particularly target energy industries who produce for local consumption;
  3. Increase the active military threat in the region, by deploying warships and other military resources to the region.
These goals all directly serve the overall objective of pro-Western regime change in Syria and Iran, and the Harper government has campaigned hard internationally, to convince other countries to assume similar policies against both countries.
In the case of Syria, the Conservatives have also campaigned aggressively to create and promote a political opposition movement to the government. In November 2011, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly received a report that “virtually no one [in Syria] is calling for international military intervention” and that Syria was “without a clearly identifiable opposition with precise political ambitions.” Yet, just prior to that report, Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird had met with the Syrian National Council and proclaimed them to be the legitimate opposition who has “continuously outlined their appetite for change.” It is unclear how Baird identified an organized and “legitimate” opposition when NATO could not, and it suggests that the Syrian National Council is little more than a pro-Western puppet government-in-waiting that has been fashioned by imperialist forces.
Furthermore, Canada has supported the arming of an estimated 40-60,000 foreign mercenaries to fight inside Syria. These mercenaries form the backbone of the Free Syrian Army, and indicate the degree of armed foreign intervention already underway in Syria. The recentelections in Syria had a higher voter turnout than in Canada, and a number of independents and government opponents were elected and have been included in the cabinet. The Syrian people have spoken, yet Canada and other interventionist forces continue to pick sides in an internal matter.
In the case of Iran, the frenzied drive to war has obscured certain significant facts from the public eye:
  1. Iran is a non-nuclear state and a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and is under the supervision of the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iran has repeatedly stated that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and not for military ends. The fact of the matter is that neither the IAEA nor the U.S. administration has been able to show any substantiated evidence about the weaponization of Iran's nuclear energy program. The U.S. Secretary of Defence, Leon Panetta, has publicly conceded, “there is no evidence that Iran has a nuclear weapon.”
  2. Israel is a nuclear weapons state with an estimated 200-400 nuclear weapons, who has refused to join the NPT. There is no UN supervision over Israel's nuclear activities. It has pre-emptively attacked other neighbouring states, and has threatened Iran with military attack many times.
  3. United States is a nuclear weapons state with more than 10,000 nuclear weapons, and it has not allowed any inspection of its nuclear facilities by the IAEA. The U.S. has used nuclear weapons against other countries, when it exploded two nuclear bombs on Japan and when it used uranium-enriched weapons in Iraq. The U.S. also has repeatedly threatened Iran with military attack, and has nuclear-equipped forces currently stationed in the region.
The Canadian Peace Congress supports the October 6 Day of Protest Against War, initiated by the Canadian Peace Alliance. After more than a year of conflict and violent foreign intervention, thousands of Syrian people have died. If governments like Canada are allowed to continue their current policies of aggression, interference and colonization, thousands more will die. All peace-supporting groups in Canada – including trade unions, faith communities and student groups – need to speak out and mobilize against intervention in Syria and Iran and the threat of a far broader war in the region.
The Canadian Peace Congress demands that the Canadian government:
  • Immediately withdraw Canadian military forces from the region, and oppose military intervention in Syria and Iran, under any pretext;
  • Restore diplomatic relations with Syria and Iran, remove sanctions, and support the peace initiatives of those states and organizations advocating a cease fire and negotiated end to the war;
  • Withdraw from NATO, which has a nuclear first-strike policy and complimentary sea- and land-based ballistic missile systems, and all other military alliances;
  • Promote full nuclear disarmament, beginning with the nuclear stockpiles of the United States, Israel and NATO;
  • Adopt a new independent Canadian foreign policy of peace, non-intervention and diplomacy in international relations.

Station 12 der "Via Dolorosa":Jerusalem und die Zukunft Palästinas

Station 12 des Leidensweges:  Jerusalem/Al Quds

6. Juni 2012

Six Palestinians Killed in Gaza by Israeli 'Defense Forces'

The world upside down. The Age of Enlightenment has never happened. War is Peace.

Truth always remains truth, and a lie remains what it is, namely a lie, and only he who is of God hears God's Words (Jn. 8:47).

If you tell a big enough lie for a long enough period, the lie will become the "truth".

What might these guys be discussing? Truth?

Southern Israel under attack by Gaza rockets

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Israel came under attack from Gaza rocket fire.
At least 50 rockets fired from Gaza have struck Israel since Saturday night, according to the military and Israeli news reports. A factory in Sderot sustained a direct hit Sunday morning and several buildings and two cars in the Sha'ar Hanegev municipality were also damaged in attacks. At least three Israelis have been wounded.
The terrorist group Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for the bombardment. The Palestinian Maan news agency reported that Islamic Jihad said it shot more than 70 rockets at Israel between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Maan reported that at least six Palestinians have been killed in Israeli retaliation on what the Israel Defense Forces said were weapon manufacturing facilities, weapon storage facilities and rocket launching sites.

The Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted a rocket heading for the major Israeli city of Ashdod on Saturday.
Schools throughout southern Israel were closed on Sunday.
"The IDF is striking and will continue to strike Gaza. Terrorist organizations are suffering grave setbacks at the hands of the IDF. The world must understand that Israel will not sit with its hands crossed," Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting.
On Saturday, four Israeli soldiers were injured when an anti-tank missile hit on IDF jeep patrolling the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip.
The IDF responded Saturday night by targeting several of what it called "terror activity sites" in Gaza, leaving four Palestinians dead and dozens wounded. The rocket attacks and Israeli retaliation continued on Sunday morning, killing two more Palestinian Gazans.

IDF fires warning shot into Syria ????

It's been nearly 40 years since the last time Israel fired a shot into the Syrian side of the Golan Heights. Until today.
"In the midst of Syrian infighting, a mortar shell fired by the Syrian army struck near an outpost at Tel Hazeka," IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai said. The shell failed to cause injuries or damages.
"In light of the policy instituted by IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz, a warning round was fired back into Syria. We don't believe it caused injuries or damages," Mordechai added.
At the same time, Israel sent a warning message to the UN, saying that any further firing into Israel will result "in a real response," sources added.
Israel limited its return fire, since its policy is to only fire intensively in response to coming under major Syrian fire. "We didn't continue firing because this was one mortar we were responding to," the source said.
"We will not accept any firing into our territory," he added. "This was a signal to the Syrians, that we will not be so forgiving of everything that lands in a territory." The source stressed that as of now, Israel and Syria were not a in a conflict situation.
The IDF is currently on standby for a security deterioration on both the northern front and the border with Gaza.
I'm not sure our government gets it. Assad doesn't care whether errant shells fall in Israel. He trusts that we won't go to war over them, and he's willing to take some casualties over them if he has to due to our limited responses. All he cares about is his own survival.
